Unfortunately it was a depleted FridayNight group consisting of the Marvills, Cartwrights, Mooneys and Roberts, who enjoyed fine food, alcoholic refreshment and a mind tingling quiz duly hosted by Kelvin and Doreen.

A 7.30pm kick off saw initially copious amounts of liquid refreshments partaken to lubricate brain cells followed by a delicious meal of lamb chilli con carni, rice, jacket potatoes etc. which seemed to put some of us in “sleep” mode. Saving the delicious sweets until the interval, two teams were formed by the tossing of a coin, as well as ensuring respective partners were on opposing sides. The red team comprised of Kelvin, Lynne, Dave M and Pauline, the yellow team being Kath, John, Doreen and Dave C.

10 rounds of questions using a DVD format and covering a range of subjects saw the yellow team as front runners in the early rounds only to be overtaken by the red team before the interval. The second half saw the yellow team take the lead once again, probably the red team had eaten too many chocolate profiteroles and banoffi pie and also they looked a little worse for the drink. Certainly by the state of Dave M’s shirt the red wine was flowing!

Final scores at the end of the night were yellow team 60, red team 57. However the red team decided to alter their score for the photograph to 67, probably because they could not stand losing.

It was an exceptionally good night and the DVD still has plenty of more questions so another event will have to be planned into the diaries at another FridayNighter’s location.
