Easter Monday saw a smaller than usual contingent (no John, Lynne or Kev) do a lovely walk from Allestree to Duffield - thanks to Ged and Jean for organising. The walk started alongside Allestree golf course and took us through fields along the river to Duffield Church, where Kath and Dave found gravestones relating to Dave’s side of the family.

After a short break for refreshments the ‘flat’ walk found a ‘slight incline’ in the shape of Burley Hill, although the views from the top were well worth the effort. We all smiled as we headed back down the hill, past the Joiners Arms, only to find that we had another small climb to end the walk.

The weather was just right for walking, and welcome refreshments were enjoyed in The Markeaton .
