are to hold a Pub quiz in March/April. Date to be advised. Please
note, a donation of £5 per head will be required.
1.3. The general consensus of the meeting was that this year we
would give the August concert in the park a miss, and consider a
Saturday evening Trent River Cruise. Both Doreen and John agreed
to seek further details and costs. A
Provisional date of Aug 18 was agreed.
1.4 Friday Nighters Summer Barbeque. The date for this was agreed
as July 21st.
1.5 Summer Walks. It was agreed that where practical we should have
the usual Bank Holiday walks. However to make the walks enjoyable
for everyone, it was suggested that each couple be responsible for
organising and leading a specific walk. Could everyone therefore
advise the hon. sec of the walk they would like to lead!!!.
Mick Malpass has agreed to lead a history tour of Chellaston on
July 3rd
1.6 October 6th – Since the meeting Dave Cartwright has requested
that we keep this date free in our social dairy. Dave will provide
more detail nearer the time.

success of our return to the Hilton House. We should continue with
this venue for 2007 on Dec 15th

Can you advise Kev of your likely interest, if you have not already
done so.
2.0 Friday Nighters Charity Contribution Programme
Dave Cartwright, our fund co-ordinator, reported that the fund had
an excess of £280. The meeting therefore agreed that this
sum should be split between our chosen charities. Subsequently,
Dave has issued an e-mail confirming donations of £140 respectively
to the Spinal Research and Cancer Research UK
A general discussion took place into the nature of our support
for this subject. Everyone present were adamant that we should continue
if not increase our support.
During 2007 therefore, it was unanimously agreed that we would
have specific events where a small donation per head would be requested
to participate in that particular event. The first such event is
the pub quiz planned by Doreen and Kelvin.
3.0 Friday Nighters Web Site
Kev has agreed to continue as web-master. Any costs incurred would
be split amongst the membership. Please ensure any up-dates are
forwarded to Kev.
The meeting concluded at 9.30pm
